The United Soviet States of America: the Police State, Fascism, Totalitarianism, by Burton:
True. But the odd thing is that many Americans -- including too many men -- believe that law enforcement is not "tough" enough. They believe that "criminals have too many rights", that the courts "tie the hands of the police", etc. Even when you point out facts, such as the 2+ million Americans in jail, they think that the police still need to "get tougher."
I'd contend that feminism, with its violations of due process and denial of presumption of innocence in raype cases, is part of this general wave of law and order. Far from being progressive, feminism is a reactionary movement. And one reason that the government promotes feminism is because it justifies as expansion of the police state and prison-industrial complex.
As for the sex prison, it is becoming literal. There are increasing moves to criminalize Americans who go abroad to meet sex workers or foreign wives. The government does not want its subjects to realize there is a world beyond the borders. Look at the increasing restrictions on legal travel in and out of the USA. All at the same time that the government was planning to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens (or "undocumented immigrants", if you like).
To give my spin: the ruling elite no longer needs your average citizen. They'd rather have a globalized populace of disenfranchised subjects. So they turn the screws on the citizenry by criminalizing more behavior and amping up the penalties. But then, this is what Americans have demanded, what with the "war on drugs" and "war on crime." Your average American is incapable of putting 2 + 2 together on this one.
Recently, there has been some protest among Americans, organized via talk radio, centered around the government treating illegal aliens better than citizens. They actually managed to stop an illegal alien amnesty bill in the Congress. The question is raised, if the government can jail millions of people for smoking marijuana, why not then jail millions of aliens for entering the country illegally, or at least send them home?
Perhaps people are waking up to the game being played on them. Perhaps not.
